A bizarre
Counterpunch article has it that American foreign policy is in thrall to a cabal of Jewish Zionist activists. The strangest assertion is that American Middle East policy was guided by "Arabists" from the "1920s to roughly 1990." It gets worse, the essay appears in the book "
The politics of anti-semitism". This focusing on the Jewishness, or even the card-carrying Zionism, of this or that one in the US administration misses the point about America being an imperial power whether its leading foreign policy advisers are Zionists or "Arabists".
